Jammin' season

Hi Family

My kind, sweet, husband brought me home a bushel of peaches and a bushel of pears on Wednesday. I have been making jam and syrup now for four days. As I peel peaches using the boiling water and cold water I distinctly remember doing it with mom ... a long time ago. I have so much jam and syrup that we will be glad for another flavor sometime soon. Although I am not sure that I am up to making another batch when I do finally get through all of the peaches and pears. I did make some raspberry jam last month but not anywhere near the volume that I have here now.

Erica, Michael, and Ashley are all in school now. Ashley loves Kindergarten. Michael loves being the older brother and seems to like school well enough. Although he hates homework. Erica is an emotional 5th grader. She seems to be fine one day and an emotional wreck the next. We are working on getting through it. Maybe we will make to the teenage years. Erica wants to go visit grandma Christie for Spud Harvest.

Anyway that is the update from Shelley. I am always looking forward to and dreading harvest season. I love to can but hate the immediacy of the project.

We love you all

By the way, I just had some of your jam with some homemade bread (not made by me, of course) and it was like CANDY! I loved it. The peach pear jam is a smash. Best part: Zach doesn't like peaches so I get the whole jar! huzzah!

We're huge fans of the jam as well. Chad wants to know if you will sell him some more. :)
