Things Zan Misses

I remember wondering, before we moved, what small things I would miss once I was in Ireland.  Zach and I agree that we've been really fortunate and that our list is rather small. And of course, there are things here that I already know I'll miss once I'm back again. But just as an interesting catalogue, here are a few things I've been missing.
  • Reese's peanut butter cups.  People over here think Hershey is nasty chocolate. And there might be something in that. Cadbury makes my life happy (so, so, so happy), but they just don't seem to understand the magic of chocolate and peanut butter.  I think that is a massive oversight.
  • Those delightful Goody elastic hair bands (I couldn't find a picture of the clear ones I love so much) that don't have stupid metal clasps and that will hold my wanna-be pony tails.
  • Proper Fitness and Health magazines. They are my guilty pleasure and one of the best ways of distracting me from nagging school deadlines. Even though I can't read them in the tub. Since I don't have one. Thanks for reminding me. The ones over here are rubbish. I don't like them at all, and how am I supposed to veg-out properly when I'm busy critiquing their lack of solid content?  Although, there is something to be said about the weird English idioms sprinkled throughout;
  • Propel powder mix. I hadn't had any soda for over 4 years when I came to Ireland, but with a serious dearth of drink options, a new array of soda flavors (I do not recommend Lucozade, but  sparkling pink lemonade is well worth it), and the sometimes off-putting flavour inherently in the water, I've caved. But I don't like the soda sensation--my tummy rebels against the carbonation-- and I miss a little flavoured water now and again. Propel was a bit of an addiction for me in the States, I admit, but it would be a luxury over here.
  • My wardrobe. The one sitting in Mum's garage. Oh, the options, the accessories, the shoes! Even though some of my clothes may not fit or won't be what I like anymore once I get back, I will certainly delight in the sheer number of options. I'm not really hurting, and I have bought one or two clothing items since I came, but I admit that I look forward to the day when all my clothes will by hanging in my clost again; I will open my arms wide, embrace them and lovingly whisper, "I missed you."
