Thanksgiving approaches! I'll be digging out recipies this weekend and shopping for one of my favorite holidays. Much to be grateful for this year. A few housekeeping items of note--
*I have the sibling gift exchange names chosen. If you haven't gotten yours from me let me know.
*Any requests for favorite foods would be appreciated. Also, if you'd care to cook.....
*I think Chad is bringing his dutch oven so we can have a redux on steak and potatoes. That was so delicious! Thanks Mabeys.
*Karali has graciously accepted my request to play a piano solo in Sacrament mtg. on the 30th. That lets the 'family choir' off the hook.
*Photo session is Saturday at 10:00. May change to later or earlier if I can accomodate the ward "turkey bowl." Since neither brother can tell me when exactly that is to take place, I won't guarantee it can happen.
*We'll see what Dad will agree to wear to the photo op....
*I think we should all vote Zan and Zach in as our entertainment specialists.
*I appreciate Lisa agreeing to be our crafting specialist.
*Our second annual "Crafting with Holly" segment will have to be postponed. Perhaps we can schedule something in Utah over the Christmas break.
*Ane May and company will be in the Salt Lake area for Christmas this year. I think an Ikea/shopping/crafting day would be fun. I'll check Trevor's schedule...
*Trevor is planning on taking a "college day" to attend the zoo with the Cammacks on Wednesday the 26th.
*I had a lovely conversation with Erica this week. She thinks that since she doesn't see Brandon that much anyway, "with college and all that stuff that he is supposed to be doing," that she won't miss him that much. "My life will pretty much be the same." I'm looking forward to more conversations with her.
*Brandon will speak at the ward Priesthood Preview this Sunday (as will Trevor). It has been a tender mercy to have him home these past months. Makes my heart happy to see him each day. Also makes it harder to see him go...He will be a great missionary and I know he will be successful.
*Dad is on the road again..(tune in head--willie nelson, I believe) He'll deliver 3 loads to Denver in two weeks' time. Should pull in in time for turkey dinner.
* I lead the music in Primary last Sunday. Had a great time in Sr. In Jr. I figured I did o.k. It's been a while, and there are over 140 children in our Primary, mostly Jr. That's a lot of Sunbeams. Afterward I got a giant hug from a sweet 7-year-old. She hung around the piano while I played a little postlude, then when I acknowledged her, she ran in for the hug. Made my day. Perhaps I can do this Primary thing afterall.
Have a great week!
