Thank you, Zan, for keeping the blog alive. We do need to check our pulse. I am always running at the speed of life, and have to be reminded of some of the finer things, like communication.
The latest from Kimberly includes Dad's decision to move the shop to our own property. Bids on concrete are forthcoming. He is finishing a '68 mustang for a client, and hopes to be finished with that within the month, and move home after that.
Trevor made the baseball team. Tryouts finished just today. (Yea!) He also has a date to the prom (Roxy Kreiger) and is an escort for the Miss Kimberly pageant. That allows me to both see him and get a picture of him in a tux. Twice! I asked Roxy what color her dress was, and she was so cute about it. I was given instructions on what color to get Trev's tux. He is accepted at BYUI and is planning on a Sept 10 start date. That should work out well for him to work for Dad one last summer.
Brandon sounds great! Looks good, too. I get on his mission blog-site from time to time and enjoy trying to wade through the Portuguese. I did get another package in the mail to him.. Who knows whether he will get any of them, but at least I tried. Expect a missionary photo in the mail, as I have one for each of you. I loved his last story about the Kelly Clarkson kareoke. An acquaintance of mine reminded me that whatever amount of money spent on this mission is truly a bargain for the education and opportunities it offers. I'm finding this to be true, just from what I am experiencing and learning on many levels. Dad is talking about wanting to serve when it is our season. I think the Bahamas would be o.k. ......
It is time for me to "paint" a bulldog down at the local ceramic shop. I must think of how to personalize it for T. He thinks I should paint the "golden arches" on it. He was given a challenge by Roxy to stay away from fast food for a week. Actually, it was bet and I think he lost.
I forget how much calendar space a senior takes up in the last few months.
Is it Spring yet? I'm still running in the dark most mornings. The most interesting thing that I experienced on my morning runs this year was an awful smell down by the canyon on a very windy, and very cold morning. It seemed particularly strong at two points, on either side of the canyon, but esp as the wind came over the top on the Jerome side. Never mind the details, but when I got home a little later in the morning a news report on the radio said a body had been discovered in the canyon under/near the Perinne bridge. Hmmm....
I need to gear up for girls camp soon. It will be a challenge for me to get with these older girls before camp and get their program/music together. I do like a challenge, however.
I am off to visit Karali and Matthew and my grandpuppy for the weekend. I get to see an opera at IU. It's a tough job, but I think I'll manage! My students are finishing up their pieces for music festival, and they are all sounding pretty good this year. I'm playing for Primary and ward choir, and a few other events that keep me pretty busy.
I should mention that Trev and I spent some time with Joel and his family last weekend, and I recieved major-league level training in the fine art of batting and got some pretty serious nutritional advice/lecturing. Not to mention raising my enzyme levels by ingesting raw garlic. Zan was there, and can verify. I can represent! (o.k., so I stink at it, but not for lack of trying. Trev laughed about it most of the way home. I also burped up garlic most of the way home...)
Love you all!
